college roommate of mine used to carry around a piece of paper in his back pocket with a list of things to do. We used to laugh as we watched him transfer items from one piece of paper to another every week.
Can you imagine having a todo list that has grown since I was 18 years old, because the rate of additions far exceed the rate of completions?
Well that list fell on top of me this year. I want to say thank you to those of you who spent countless hours listening to me.
And now for some more mushy stuff. Thank you Dianna for always being there for me, knowing me better than I know myself, and for making me feel that no matter how much time we spend together, that I want even more time with you.
Versant has proven to be a great place to work and learn. Business takes me to the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and Western States - I couldn't ask for better places to travel. Although representing yet
another emerging technology company should be quite familiar to me, this time a combination of factors have made the task most challenging. I am pleased to report that, thanks to the wonderful people I work with and the incredible technology, things are looking good!

Gardening Update

ast year, we meticulously
measured soil consistency and pH levels.
We applied all the right materials and worked the soil. In April, Dianna carefully planted seeds
indoors and nurtured them to seedlings.
In May, we transferred them to the garden. The next day, we had a freeze and all was lost. Two weeks later we planted seedlings, and
despite incredible rains, we harvested cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes
and more.
We had a competition with my
sister-in-law for the best garden. I
accused her of sabotage, because she told me to pull all the weeds
regularly. After a while, you get to
recognize the many varieties of weeds.
We went away and did not tend the garden for two weeks. When I pulled the "weeds" that
Adelina told me to pull, this time it was attached to a carrot!
We decided to call it a draw
for the garden competition with Adelina.

Highlights of 1995
Paul's parents and brother visited us this year during his birthday and we had a terrific time. Paul had gotten home late from a business trip and was told that his mother was sleeping on the couch. As he went past her, he heard her calling him Face, the nickname his sister calls him. You could imagine Paul's surprise about his mom calling him by that name - she never did that before. Well, it turned out that Cristina surprised him by making the trip as well!
Then, Dianna & Paul drove with his parents to Texas to visit family and friends. Dianna's family treated us like royalty and we will never forget our trip. Lee and Cindy entertained us with incredible canine acrobatics. Next, they flew to Florida to meet up with mom and dad to celebrate Aunt El's 70th birthday.
Other highlights include the visits with Doug & Roslyn (and their guests) at their cabin; 250 consecutive attempts at water skiing; and showing Jim Hvid that a pudgy little guy like me can do twice as many headstand pushups as he can. Can't wait for New Year's Eve.....

Figure: Paul on a Sunday Drive with the Bronco II.
Paul and a
neighbor's son (Jonathan) completely rebuilt the Bronco II this summer. When it was done, Jonathan introduced Paul
to some people that regularly take their 4x4's off-road. Paul can hardly believe the ability of the
vehicles to balance on two wheels, climb the steepest inclines, and traverse
such rough terrain. The kid in Paul has
come to life.
For those of you who plan to visit us, expect to be taken on some bumpy,
mountain trails that you won't soon forget!
Please call us at 970-667-4497. We'd love to hear from you. May 1996 bring you all of the things you dream of.
