Our Backyard Waterfalls

This year was especially filled with great events, including Bryan and Kathy’s wedding; Scott and Mandy’s wedding; Rasputen’s, DeMichael’s, Danielle's and Jourdon’s births.  Dianna and I were honored to be Rasputen’s godparents.

We did not have enough visitors this year, so the Hotel Panepinto is offering a Winter Wonderland Package to any takers.  Reservations are taken at the web page or via phone or email.

A Little Package

Dianna got Cohiba to protect her when Paul is away on business, but Paul thinks an intruder just needs to present a doggy treat and Cohiba will make a friend.

We visited Oahu, Hawaii and Maui.  Oahu was a major surprise, because I was told it was NY City with a little greenery.  Instead, we found Hanuama Bay and swam with the fish, an all-you-can-eat Sushi Brunch, the Punch Bowl Memorial and the gut wrenching Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.  We walked on lava flows that recently cooled, visited rain forests and waterfalls on Hawaii.  On Maui, we learned the custom of a Luau.

We anxiously await our visit with family after Christmas and our trip to the UK to visit the Merrills with the Dorans.  Given that Paul is the champion wrestler, Patrick, Scott and Trevor better be getting in super shape.  And, our favorite bartender better make some “Gary’s” for New Year’s.

Mom’s B-Day

What a PARTY!

M

y mom’s b-day party was a treat.  Mom and dad celebrate their wedding anniversary on the same day, Dec. 4.

Cris prepared the invites and made sure that Lia’s closest friends were invited.  Thank all of you for making my folks’ day so special.  Rick, Mel, Jim, Yolanda, Helen, Chris, and all – great job on the crushed red pepper gag we pulled.

Everyone lavished my mom with gifts and made her really enjoy the day.

·         Christmas 1996 in CO and in CA

·         Seattle floods prevent New Year’s Party at “The Cabin”

·         Duke Earl White joins Versant and skis with Pinto & Macklin.

·         Dianna and I stay on Coronado Island and Downtown SD for show and romantic Valentine’s weekend.

·         Stuck at the airport with the Hu’s because a nut put a bomb there.  Fun to catch up with Eugene and Judy.

·         Breakfast with Wulfert's and hiking in the Superstition Mountains, finding the trees with cactus plants for leaves, plus lots of golf in Phoenix.

·         Paul O’Neil and Howard Posnick visits.

·         Camping @ 10,000’ and making cell calls.  Wishing Jim would sleep in my luxury tent, because the elk wanted their space back and scared me.  Attendant Robbie of Spatan Airlines and first class service.  Thanks guys for making the 4th of July trip one of the best times of my life.  Jim coached me to new heights in the Wind River Range.  Remember our academic friend?

·         20 Year HS Reunion – chilled Vodka with the Dorans; seeing Ed & Tracy and their incredible children; dinner with Mark, Kim & Gabriella and our families; and feeling as if 20 years hadn’t even past between us (too many to name, but you saw my joy in seeing you.)

·         Mooney, a brilliant manager and good friend, leaves Versant.  Thanks Mike, for making Versant such a great place to be while you were there.

·         Forgetting the timing gear to camshaft bolt on the new Bronco II engine.  (For those of you who aren’t mechanics, just pity  me.)

·         Thanksgiving weekend in Oahu, Maui and the Big Island with Pollo, Aunt Fena, and Marph.

·         Mountain II, the sequel.  Dianna and I, with the help of many, and heavy equipment, re-built the mountain and waterfalls in our yard.  Dianna designed the two-level pond and stocked it with fish and plants that live submerged in water.  We added a beautiful white fence to keep our new family addition safe – Cohiba – our dog named after Paul’s favorite cigar.
