ianna and Paul celebrated 10
years of a truly blessed marriage. Sources
close to the couple say that whenever they are together, they look like they
love each other as much as when they first met - even though that was almost 17
years ago.
Reminiscent of their
honeymoon, the couple enjoyed a cruise aboard the Sovereign of the Seas
to the Bahamas.
Dick Petersen, travel guru
extraordinaire, arranged for a perfect trip.
Dianna and Paul flew to Orlando and took a stretch limo to the Coco Bay
Hilton. They enjoyed swimming in the
ocean, walking on the beach and watching the sunset. Next, they had a romantic dinner in town.
The next day, they boarded a
massive 14-deck ship and enjoyed roaming about the restaurants, bars, theatres,
shopping mall, entertainment decks and casino.
On the islands, the couple toured Nassau, Atlantis, and Coco Kay where
they canoed and jet skied in tropical waters.
Thank you, Dianna, for all
that you are and do.

here are some trips that
make everlasting memories - our SW Colorado expedition in the San Juan
Mountains was no exception.
Dianna
saw how much Paul enjoyed beefing up his Bronco II (adding a 4" lift,
lower gears, front lockers, bigger, wider wheels, Super Swamper Mudder tires,
and a full roll cage) and she and her family added a new cassette stereo/CD
system and Bushwacker fender flares.
Lee Macklin brought his monster Dodge Ram
"Humvee Eater" and Dick Petersen set land speed records in his
Trooper. Ouray, Telluride, and
Silverton hold spectacular views and trails.
With so many peaks to see, so many shelf roads to terrorize us, so much
beer to drink, we will make this an annual event.

esides
the indescribable beauty of the region, the group enjoyed 4-wheeling on the
trails. The Bronco II gasped for air on
the 13,000 ft. passes, slowing to a crawl.
Squeezing through some of the high, narrow shelf roads created a whole
new experience that only one phrase can describe.
Thanks to the Humvee Eater, the group was able to
scale Poughkeepsie Gulch. Thanks Lee
and Dick for doing such great planning.
Jason and Jr. - I had a blast smoking cigars and playing pool in the bar
in Silverton watching the roads float away.
Brad, Randy and all who shared in the camping, wheeling, and majesty of
the San Juan's, thank you for being there.
Paul
and Dianna enjoyed several visits with the DiSanto's and are very grateful for
getting to know Joseph Jr. and Dianna better.
Geri - thanks for the terrific meals you prepared with all of my
favorite Italian dishes. Mario and
Jackie thanks for the seeded, twist Italian bread. We enjoyed it sooooo much.
We loved getting to know your children and hope to see you again
soon. We need to plan a vacation in
Colorado for all of you and Helen. I
can't describe how wonderful it felt to be with you again.

Highlights of 2000
·
New
Year's with the Merrill's and Doran's was great as always. Lots of
snowmobiling, great food and drink, and my favorite - sliding down the hill
with Patrick, Scott and Trevor.
·
Golf
at Seascape with Kob and Robert - how did my swing look?
·
Rooming
with Yeager and his willingness to come back to the party at 2am and drink the
only remaining alcohol, Grand Manier.
·
Mark's
true sign of friendship making it back to the party with 20 seconds to spare
winning me a cool $40.
·
Lunch
with Dom D'Argenio at a great Italian Restaurant in NY. It seemed as though the miles and years had
no effect on our long-time friendship.
·
A
terrific MM Day weekend with Lee and Cindy and the MM Day crowd. We loved the
hikes, cooking, wine, and company.
·
Jason's
surprise B-day party for Cris.
·
Dinner with Tod in TX at the
Cool River Café.
·
Almost
making it to Glenwood Springs to celebrate Dianna's birthday. But train delays, a breakdown over the pass,
and a bomb scare lead us to leave that train in the middle of nowhere and spend
a quiet weekend at home.
·
Rafting
down the Colorado River with Travel Dick and Randy and Dick's other terrific
friends. I didn't sleep for two days worrying about Skull Rapids
and the Room of Doom. We
enjoyed Chivas and cigars and all the comforts of home. I never saw so
much camping and cooking gear! But the
meals were terrific, the views give meaning to the word Colorado, and the river
makes you long for a return trip.
·
Hiking
in the Grand Tetons with Dom, Susan, Ryan and Brent. We look forward to future
treks out West with you.
·
Tranquilino,
Maria and Debbie visited and put their seat belts on extra tight for the drive
to mom's. Sorry we had to take off
during your visit. Lino, may you have a
speedy and complete recovery.
·
Running
into Mike, Kari, Lindsey and Tim at a gas station in the middle of
nowhere. What are the chances?
·
Modesto,
Jefferson, Birdie and the family visited and we had a fantastic trip to Central
City, CO.
·
Dave
and Buster's with Karen, Tom Jr., Michelle and Mathew and water gun fights at
home.
·
Climbing
Crystal Mountain with Stuart G. and Javier.
·
Jerre
and Dana prepared a feast for Jason, Cris and me. What a joy to see how big and strong Austin and Gavin have
become!
·
Visiting
Dr. Telco at his home and having lunch with him one splendid November Saturday.
·
All
the visits to Cris and Jason, Gary, Mom and Dad, and Aunt Phyllis.
·
Mike
and Nancy's birthday bash and catching up with Sunil and Nisha and Anthony and
Karin.

ongratulations
to all our family and friends who have new babies, especially Kylie Rae, India,
Austin Jason, and Alexa.
This
year was a wonderful year that afforded Dianna and me many a chance to have
dinner with friends and colleagues. We
made several new friends at work that we expect will remain close for a
lifetime.
Sometimes,
our NY trips held great adventure.
Dianna, Martha and I met Dave, Kayoko and Sara for Dim Sum only to have
our rental car towed. At the police
station, I was scolded for 15 minutes and told that my car was "aggressively
towed" whatever that means. So
from Manhattan we had to find our way to the Brooklyn Naval Yard. Then, we discovered that NY really doesn't
like it when you take a rental car through an EZ-Pass lane.
Thanksgiving
was warm and sunny and we enjoyed a large family gathering. We were not able to hook up with Rick and
Laura and Scott this year, but hope to see them shortly.
We
look forward to Christmas in both CO and CA and the usual New Year’s crowd in
WA. We can't wait to see all of the
hard work and craftsmanship that went into the new home in Granite Bay.
