Remembering Philip A. Panepinto

Mom and Dad enjoyed a wonderful 50th Wedding Anniversary last December. Dad wanted to do something special for mom and with the help of Adobe Photoshop, we created a large portrait of their pictures from when they first met. They also re-enacted a photo taken 54 years ago when they first met.

Dad fought a battle with cancer showing great courage and was always concerned for his family rather than his plight. He never complained.

Dad passed away on February 7th, 2006, just short of his 75th birthday and he will be missed so very much. But, he will never be forgotten. My father’s lessons, humor, and memories of him will be with me forever.

Thank you to all of our friends and family that shared your time, support and caring throughout the past couple of years.

When I returned to Colorado, Dianna took me to the mountains and rented a condo on Lake Dillon.  We enjoyed an entire day together just looking at the lake. That evening, Ros, Scott and Trevor surprised me by showing up and brought me a new pair of Salomon Scrambler 8 skis.  We had a wonderful time skiing and I am still surprised how much of a difference in speed, control and form the skies made for me and how much less fatigued my legs got after a full day of skiing. From now on, I am a big believer in equipment!

Dianna and I took Koko Head to Upstate New York in May to meet up with Dan, JoJo and Matt. We saw a Thomas the Tank Engine show, rode the trains, visited the exhibits and shook hands with Sir Topham Hat.  Louie and Matt built sand castles, played by the river, explored the forest together, and enjoyed their very first night out camping. We ate delicious venison for dinner and enjoyed mom’s green chile with tortillas and beans for breakfast. Dan and I had a great time closing down the bar at the Copperfield Inn while listening to rock songs from the 60’s - 80’s.

Ros planned an exceptional surprise 50th Birthday party for Doug in Las Vegas. Gary, Renee, Kim. Alan, Steve, Bev, Gary, Wendy, Dan, Carol, Dianna and I decorated the 5-bedroom villa we rented before Doug and Ros showed up. Doug was very surprised and had such a great time with his friends and family. We gambled and rode the Manhattan Express roller coaster and ate at Ceaser’s Palace.  Everyone had such a great time.

Scott, Lee, Jerry, Mike and I did some radical 4-wheeling in Moab in June. Check out our adventure here.

Chantelle threw a great party for Koko Head’s 3rd birthday at the park at Lake Loveland. Afterwards, Koko, Little, deMichael, Kylie, Jordan, Chanelle and I went to see Cars.  The next day, Raspy, Chica and I went to see Cars again, because it was so good.
