 So Far this Year

Green Plug has been a wild ride so far.  USA Today, Wall Street Journal, SJ Mercury News, CBS News, CNET, CNN, Fortune and more have covered our company with very favorable reviews. Frank, the founder and CEO, won the Demo God award at Demo08: http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1351261140/bctid1392526662

Here’s my spin on Green Plug: http://www.ppanepinto.com/Greenplug.wmv. Much of my job involves evangelizing universal, efficient power through digital collaboration with devices and that takes me to Asia a lot.  In December, I made my first visit to Tokyo, Osaka and Seoul. In February, I make two trips to Asia to visit those places plus Bangkok, Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Bejing.  It’s all very exciting.

I looked up Wigs and got to have dinner with him and his charming wife, Makiko.  Wigs selected a wonderful seafood restaurant where we got to dine on delicious authentic cuisine and caught up on the past 20 years of our lives.

Dianna and I had a beautiful Christmas in Colorado and then spent several days in an awesome cabin in Silverthorne that Ros found. The Dorans and Merrills had yet another outrageous New Year’s holiday with us, skiing Keystone and Copper when I-70 was shut down for 36 hours due to heavy snow the night before, playing Uno with Koko Head, Camron and Kyle. Scott blew our minds with some crazy game called Mao and somehow Wendy and I won a couple of rounds even though I never really quite understood the rules.  That’s the fun of the game.

Then, I had a great week in Las Vegas at the CES 2008 show where we launched the Green Plug UPP chip.  When I returned, Monster and her family took me to Vail where all of us had a perfect day of skiing with Cousin Brent and his friends. The snow was perfect - the best ski conditions I have ever skied.

Big Mac and I replaced the transmission in the Bronco II, Little Buck. We ran into quite a few obstacles, like a bent up exhaust pipe and rusted and seized exhaust manifold studs. It took many hours of die grinding, cutting, ripping and re-threading, but we got most of it put back together.  This summer we’ll be wheeling for sure in the Sierras.

The top 2 bell housing bolts can only be reached by approaching from way behind the transmission.  It takes 4 long extensions on a socket to reach it. Lee had the patience of a saint working with me on this big job. And, Gary was always there to lend a hand and notify us when the vehicle or transmission was about to fall on us.

Dianna is enjoying Tucson with Martha and Jason and will tell us all about the trip soon.

Dianna and I hope to have a fun-filled Valentine’s Day in Estes Park, where we got married.
