So Far This Year

We began the year celebrating Dianna's mom's 80th birthday.  The Chilson Center provided a terrific venue for more than 100 guests to celebrate Prissy's life.  Mom enjoyed her many guests, sharing stories and watching the video collage.  The food was delicious.  Dianna, Gogo and Marph did a great job making this surprise party so special.

Young PrissyPrissy Today

Paul enjoyed two trips to Japan so far this year.  The first trip involved Osamu-san and Masa-san helping him deliver product demos to hundreds of Sony engineers in a revolving door of visitors!  Afterwards, they had a terrific dinner.  The next trip, Paul met up with Kevin, Green Plug's VP Engineering who never ceases to amaze me with his talents.  Masa took us on a fine tour of Tokyo Tower.  Then, we had drinks at the top of the Prince Shinagawa Hotel.  We had dinner together and Willie joined us, which was so much fun having him with us.  Wigs chose a terrific place that served the cuisine of Kumamoto, Kyushu.

Paul got to enjoy a jump rope physical education day with Louie and his classmates.  What fun!  Paul has enjoyed breakfast and an ice-cream social with Little Michael and bike rides with Kylie, our wonderful goddaughter.  We also enjoy spending time with Nic and his beautiful baby girl, Madisyn, who has the biggest brown eyes.  Madisyn's baptism was so beautiful and Nic prepared scrumptious Mexican food.  (Dianna and I took home leftovers and ate them for a week!)

Dianna, Prissy, Aunt Cathy and Paul rented "Valentine," a cool red and white Ford Flex that we drove to visit family in New Braunfels.  We rented a great house on the river and had many fine home-cooked meals.

Paul had a drink at Hennessey and then a great dinner in Manhattan Beach with Bryan overlooking the sunset on the beach.  Eugene, Janelle and my family and I had a fabulous meal at Hong Kong Flower Lounge.  We also had a great time on a Friday night at Hola in Burlingame.  Before returning to CO, Paul had a terrific lunch with the People's Choice at Le Ceval.

We loved having Louie visit with Jordan and watching them swim and play together.  Jordan got his first real netbook PC and we love Skyping and emailing with him.  Louie came out to celebrate Uncle Gary's birthday at Stella Alpina.  Dianna, Mom, Aunt Joyce, Matt, Jason, Cris, Jordan, Louie and I celebrated Gary's birthday having a fabulous meal, using a ridiculously large gift certificate Frank and Karen gave us.

Dianna and Paul made a delicious fish bbq dinner with the Merrills, including red-pepper calamari, sesame encrusted soy tuna with wasabi and lemon-butter-garlic swordfish with cayenne pepper and onion powder.  Grilled shrimp, Jambalaya and assorted grilled veggies made for a feast.

Ralph treated Paul to a fine breakfast in lower Manhattan and then gave him a terrific tour of the new Freedom Tower construction and surrounding area.  Paul also got to visit with Brad, enjoying a fine meal at Putanesca on 8th Avenue in mid-town.  Later, they saw the Enron musical on Broadway that was very well done.  Before Paul returned from NY, he had to have dinner at Da Marino in the theatre district, where they made him a delicious grilled calamari vinaigrette salad.

Dougie earned his MBA this May and Ros celebrated in style with a great party.  Dave's bbq ribs, Gogo's fried chicken and Bob's brisket were highlights.  As usual, Dianna and I were the last to leave we had so much fun.

Dianna and I have had so much fun making exotic meals in the great kitchen she designed for us.  Come visit and let's give it a workout.

Jason planned a surprise 50th birthday party for Cris at Bocce's in Campbell.  Friends and family had a wonderful time playing bocce and enjoying the great food.

Dianna and I have had a lot of fun visiting the Merrills at their campsite with their huge RV and watching the parade of boats on Horsetooth.  We enjoyed Gogo, Martha, Jess, Jason, Renee, Angel, Kylie, Jourdan, Aunt Cathy, Uncle Richard and all our guests for the inaugural Jenn-Air barbecue feast on the 4th of July.  It rained so hard at night, though, that fireworks were postponed until July 5th.
